As demand for remote banking grew, Standard Bank launched its first online account origination platform, enabling small businesses to open accounts seamlessly. The platform integrated API-driven business registration verification, automated eligibility checks, and tailored recommendations for essential services like SnapScan. A secure identity verification process ensured compliance and security, streamlining account creation without the need for in-branch visits.

Small business customers with one director wanted to apply for a MyMoBiz account online. The existing process involved the "Call Me Back" functionality on the Standard Bank MyMoBiz page, which took an average of 5 days to open the account and required the submission of multiple documents. This process was inefficient and cumbersome.

The Solution

We introduced a digital origination solution that allowed small business customers to apply for a MyMoBiz account instantly, without document submission. This was achieved through API integrations with CIPC and Identifii, streamlining business registration and identity verification.


Designing complex user flows that aligned with the technology was critical to ensuring a seamless eligibility, business, and identity check - enabling customers to apply anytime, anywhere with ease.
