The Woolworths Financial Services Loyalty Programme aimed to integrate a new loyalty experience within the Woolworths app, allowing users to redeem points at checkout and earn additional rewards. The challenge was to create a seamless and consistent experience while fitting within the broader Woolworths ecosystem.

The key challenges included integrating the loyalty programme smoothly into the existing app, defining features that would align with other sections of the app, and differentiating the programme while adhering to the current design system. Additionally, we had to address user needs, account for technical limitations due to ongoing development by other divisions, and simplify the user journey.

We designed features that directly addressed user needs, such as displaying cashback balances and transaction details. The components were aligned with Woolworths’ existing design system for consistency. We simplified navigation and established a clear feature hierarchy for ease of use. Onboarding tools and informational modals were added to guide new users, ensuring a smooth introduction to the loyalty programme.
